Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch SNP MSP Dave Thompson and Highlands and Islands MSP Mike MacKenzie met with the Primary 7 Class of Lochyside Primary School at the Scottish Parliament last week and have praised the children for their impeccable conduct whilst visiting Holyrood.
Mr Thompson and Mr MacKenzie met with the children in the “Chat Room”, which is used for group visits, and enables the children to ask questions and interact with their MSPs.
Commenting on the visit, Mr Thompson said: “I was highly delighted to meet with the children and their teachers when they came to visit the Parliament last week. The children were a real credit to their school and their families. Their behaviour and conduct were first class and I am happy to say I was given a real grilling in the chat room. They asked a lot of very good questions.
“I very much look forward to visits from local schools as it gives me a chance to interact with the younger generation. After all, they are the voters of the future. Who knows, maybe there was a future First Minister in this class”.
Also commenting on the visit, Mr MacKenzie said: “It was a real pleasure to meet the children and their teachers and to answer their questions on what it is like to be an MSP. The kids were superb; very well behaved and polite and I would agree that their teachers and families should be very proud of them.
“I look forward to seeing them all again in the future."
