It is great news that parts of the mainland of the Highlands where fuel costs are particularly high will now benefit from the fuel discount that the Islands have enjoyed for the past couple of years.

Danny Alexander has held high office in the Com-Dem Government for four and half years now.

I suspect I am not the only one thinking that the good folk of the Highlands have been made to wait for this benefit so that Mr Alexander could announce it four months before he attempts to get re-elected.

I urge him and the UK Government to now go the whole way in following SNP Policy and introduce a Rural Fuel Price Regulator to remove for good high rural fuel prices.
