Dave Thompson, MSP for the Highlands and Islands (SNP) is encouraging his constituents to recycle their Christmas cards this January. Shops and schools across the Highlands and Islands will be providing collection boxes so that people can easily recycle their Christmas cards, which is an excellent way to start the New Year by doing your bit for the environment.
Mr Thompson said: "Recycling your Christmas cards once the festive season is over is a fantastic way of contributing to the improvement of our environment and a tremendous boost for recycling.
"Each year since being elected, I make sure that I recycle any Christmas cards I have received after the Christmas break, and I am delighted to be able to do so this year.
"It is an easy way to be environmentally friends at the same time as tidying up after Christmas. I would most definitely encourage my constituents to pop along to their nearest recycling collection box."
