The current state of crofting on Shetland will be top of the agenda this week when Highlands and Islands MSP Dave Thompson meets the Scottish Crofting Foundation while he is in Lerwick this week.
The SNP politician will meet with Norman Leask, Parliamentary Spokesman for the Scottish Crofting Foundation, at Mr Leasks shop (Anderson & Co) at Market Cross on Saturday 3 April.
I will be asking Mr Leask to update me on the current state of crofting on Shetland and discussing the Crofting Bill currently going through the Scottish Parliament, Mr Thompson said.
Other topics for discussion will include the Pack proposals, reform of Europes Common Agricultural Policy, transport to and from the islands and any ways in which I can assist with ensuring links with Europe remain strong.
