SNP MSP for the Highlands and Islands Dave Thompson has offered his congratulations to The Old Manse in Invermoriston on being awarded the accolade of Best B&B in the World at the recent Travellers' Choice Hotel Awards, organised by TripAdvisor.  To recognise their achievement, Mr Thompson has lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament.

These awards are unique as they are based entirely on the personal experiences of millions of travellers from across the globe.  TripAdvisor is the largest online travel site and these awards are recognised world-wide as the "Oscars of the hotel world".

Commenting on this, Mr Thompson said: "I am delighted to lodge a motion in Parliament to commend the Old Manse on their fantastic achievement.  It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the owner, Julie Mitchell, and her staff that 100% of their previous customers that commented on the website are prepared to recommend this establishment to others as a wonderful place to stay in the Highlands.

"It is clear that Julie and her staff offer a level of customer service that is unmatched and shows to the world that here in the Highlands, the folk are friendlier than anywhere else in the world.

"I am proud to congratulate Julie and all the staff at the Old Manse and look forward to hearing of future awards for this lovely B&B."
