SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, Dave Thompson, has written to Highland Council to request that repairs which are scheduled to be carried out to Henderson’s Bridge on the Isle of Raasay are done as soon as possible to prevent any further degradation of the structure.
Following a recent visit to Raasay, Mr Thompson wrote to Highland Council to ask that repairs are carried out to the Bridge and to roads throughout the Island.
Commenting on this, Mr Thompson said: “During my visit, local residents showed me the problems they have with the roads on the Island and the current state of Henderson’s Bridge, which is being undermined by vegetation.
“I understand that Highland Council do have work planned for this year but have written to ask that this is brought forward as much as possible as a matter of urgency, to prevent any further damage being done to the Bridge.
“I fully understand that the Council’s budgets are very tight, but hope that these works will happen very soon, to prevent work having to be done in the future at an even higher cost
