Dave Thompson, SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch recently attended the Scottish Sports Alliance exhibition in the Scottish Parliament, which was aimed at raising awareness of why sport matters and included a chance to view the association’s Manifesto for sport, timed ahead of this year’s Scottish Parliamentary Elections.

Mr Thompson said, “I was happy to attend the Scottish Sports Alliance exhibition in the Scottish Parliament, as I have been a long-time advocate on the benefits of sport.

“These benefits are wide ranging, including improved mental and physical health for the young and old, increased educational ability and attention span of school aged children, a more alert work force, an improved economy, and of course, there are social benefits too, such as community cohesion and feel good factor, which is not to be underestimated.

“I wish the Scottish Sports Alliance every success with their ambitious Manifesto for Sport”.
