Dave Thompson SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch has today (20/05/2014) welcomed the announcement from HIE of the construction of a salubrious 20 bed bunkhouse on Rum to support the burgeoning tourist numbers and add to the business footprint on the Island.

Dave said, “Rum is a wonderful Island with rugged scenery, mountains and wildlife that television has shown to the world.

He went on, “Rum is of course in my Constituency and I visit as often as possible. The bunkhouse has been a long time in gestation so I am delighted it is now going ahead and will be completed before the winter. This will bring more life and vibrancy to the biggest and one of the most beautiful of the Small Isles and of course is another jewel in the increasingly varied tourist offering on the west coast of Scotland.”
