Dave Thompson SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch is pleased to learn that Dingwall Academy has recently received a £7375 Awards for All grant, which will be used to help the school purchase and install a wooden shed, allowing their gardening and diggers clubs to garden in all weathers.

An enthusiastic Mr Thompson said, “It is not uncommon for us in the north of Scotland to experience particularly harsh winters, often ruling out certain recreational pursuits. However, the wooden shed will provide shelter against the elements and space to continue gardening projects, meaning that no matter the weather conditions the gardening and digger clubs will be able to continue, which is really great news!”.

Awards for All Scotland is supported by Creative Scotland, sportscotland and the Big Lottery Fund.

They award grants of between £500 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.
