Dave Thompson MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch has welcomed the news that £10,000 of funding has been secured from the Social Entrepreneurs Fund for Locheilnet CIC which provides areas west of Fort William not served by commercial providers with a fast, reliable and affordable broadband service.
Commenting on this Mr Thompson said, “The project, run by Chris Pellow, who lives in Kinlocheil is targeted to the remote and rural communities west of Fort William, meaning more people and businesses will be attracted to the area, which will lead to happy visitors and a thriving economy alike”.
“I would like to congratulate Chris on this award as this will significantly enhance the viability of businesses already operating in the locale and I wish her all the best with her future endeavours."
