Dave Thompson, SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, who is hosting the Scottish Young Consumer of the Year Competition Final in the Parliament on 24th of March, has congratulated all the finalists of the competition, but he is naturally "rooting" for Fortrose Academy from the Black Isle to take victory.
The competition is organised by the Trading Standards Institute and its Consumer Education Liaison Group; it allows teams of four 14-17 year olds to compete in a knockout consumer quiz.
The winners of the Scottish Final will go on to compete at the Trading Standards Institute (TSI) UK Final held in London on 24th & 25th June 2015.
Mr Thompson said,
"It is great news that Fortrose Academy has made the Scottish Young Consumer of the year final.
"Whilst I congratulate the entire group of finalists, I only sponsor the quiz; therefore I can afford to be partial about Fortrose Academy who I will be rooting for to take victory and win the chance to represent in the UK final in June.
I am thoroughly looking forward to hosting the event in the Parliament".
