Dave Thompson, SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch has welcomed the news that tefl.org.uk, based in Dingwall, has recently been accredited as an Investor in Young People (IIYP).
The group was established in Scotland in 2008, providing courses in how to teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
Launched this summer and supported by the Scottish Government, IIYP offers an accreditation scheme encouraging employers to work with and invest in young workers. They provide advice, recommendations and best practice regarding the recruitment, employment and training of young workers.
Mr Thompson said,
“I welcome TEFL’s Investor in Young People Award as recognition of the work they do in ensuring that young talent is identified and nurtured, enabling individuals to develop so they can teach English as a foreign language, which benefits people and businesses at home and abroad”.
