Dave Thompson SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch is delighted to learn that Ballachulish Primary School will use a recent £1000 Awards for All grant to develop waste ground into an outdoor play space for those attending the school and for use by the wider community.
Following the news, Mr Thompson stated, “I am pleased to hear that Ballachulish Primary School has received £1000 and that it will help to advance the project to develop waste ground into a play area.
The benefits of play for young children are many and well-known so any initiative that facilitates the possibility that children are able to develop their mental and physical capabilities through play, is an initiative worth supporting and for that I am delighted”.
Note:
Awards for All Scotland is supported by Creative Scotland, sportscotland and the Big Lottery Fund.
They award grants of between £500 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.
