Dave Thompson SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch has welcomed the news that Lochaline Primary School has received a £10,000 Awards for All grant and that the money will be used to develop its grounds into an outdoor play space for those attending the school and the wider community.

Commenting on this, Mr Thompson said, “This is the second primary school in Skye Lochaber and Badenoch to receive a grant from Awards for All to assist with developing outdoor play areas.

The grant for Lochaline Primary School is tremendous news for those children who are set to gain enormously when the work is complete, as it will allow the children to develop their skills in a fun, friendly and safe environment”.

Awards for All Scotland is supported by Creative Scotland, sportscotland and the Big Lottery Fund.

They award grants of between £500 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.
