Dave Thompson MSP

Following on from Dave Thompson, SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch’s positive meeting on Tuesday the 9th of February in Fort William with the Minister for Business, Fergus Ewing, Highland Council, and Local Businesses, on the future of Rio Tinto, Mr Thompson was pleased to meet again today (23/02/16) with the Minister for Business and Senior Executives of Rio Tinto Alcan in the Scottish Parliament to discuss the matter further.

Mr Thompson said, “I was pleased to be involved in a constructive meeting with the Minister for Business and Senior Executives of Rio Tinto Alcan in the Scottish Parliament, where the process of the review into the Fort William smelter was discussed.

“Of course, discussions are at a very early stage and it will take some time for the review to be completed, however I look forward to meeting again to discuss the findings in due course”.
